Turkey needs to take control in the Middle East
The Middle East is in turmoil following US and Israel’s disastrous Iranian foray in February 2026. Israel has tried by all means possible to get any or every country to attack Iran. Israel however must realize that Iran has Persian roots of knowledge something Israel does not have in spite of AI, US weapons and Mossad. Turkey understands this.
Israel is killing innocent civilians in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. Lebanese official are humiliated by signing meaningless peace treaties with Israel while the IDF ravages their country. Young men and women from Gaza and the West Bank have been imprisoned for years, without trial, in Israel.
In 2026 the world witnesses the utter recklessness of the Israeli government and the IDF which does anything it is ordered to do. A UN spokesperson says that Israel sees all young Palestinians as terrorists so the IDF kills young men, pregnant women and children with impunity. Jews worldwide should have spoken out a long time ago about this but they have been strangely silent. The Holocaust happened because of world silence.
Where are so-called world leaders? War is happening in the Middle East, in Ukraine, in Russia and in Sudan to name a few. Ordinary people are dying. Drones are hailed as game changers but have robots allowed human ethics to become obsolete?
Cuba and Venezuela are in turmoil. How can the atmosphere be healthy? Fires are burning everywhere. We have AI but we cannot stop fires, how ironic! Daft entrepreneurs are talking about mirrors in space which will cause further conflagration. Already there has been an utterly senseless moon collision.
The EU while sanctioning Russia has refused to sanction Israel. The Pope has condemned all wars however Italy while selfishly criticizing Spain over immigration has refused to sanction Israel because Italy’s trade interests are similar to those of Israel. The guilt of the Holocaust torments Germany but Germany also wants to boosts its arms sales so continues to arm Israel. Meanwhile people are dying daily in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank. At least one million Palestinians are living in tents with few amenities and deficient food leaving major problems for the next generation.
October 7th 2023 should never have occurred but Israel must take some responsibility for this. Israel has been destructive rather than constructive. Since at least 1948 the Palestinians have been treated as second class citizens. Israel wants more land and more power. Anyone that gets in the way is eliminated. The UK allowed the displacement of Palestinians in order to form the Israeli state. Israel must stay within that state and allow a Palestinian state.
People in the UK have shown enormous support for the Palestinian people, probably because brave journalists, who survived Israel’s deliberate targeting, have shown the British people that Israel has behaved very badly.
The US continues to arm Israel with every weapon including demolition equipment which is used daily to destroy Palestinian homes in the West Bank.
Former President Biden implored Israel not to seek revenge after October 7th. If only Israel had listened. That was the time to compromise. Instead almost 75,000 Palestinians have been killed. Almost 2 million displaced in Gaza and people are surviving in tents. War has now spread to Iran, Lebanon and the Gulf States.
In Gaza it is pathetic to see Israeli citizens saying that they wished Gaza had been totally obliterated. It has been obliterated! Israeli citizens who say this are consumed with hate, something totally non-productive rather like the situation in Northern Ireland in the early 20th century when people of various religions burned one another and their properties. Colonization brings turmoil that takes centuries to overturn.
On the West Bank the IDF turns a blind eye to burly Israeli settlers killing Palestinians on their own land. The young Israeli men appear belligerent and provocative. They believe that it is their right to take what they want. After all their government has treated Palestinians with contempt. This must change!
It is sad to see sturdy Israeli women eating Palestinian fruit while Palestinians look on, helpless, hungry and devoid of hope.
Benjamin Netanyahu and his government has been a disaster for Israel, the Middle East and the US. People sit around at White House meetings looking incredulous but silent while the President talks. Unfortunately he is incapable of stopping Netanyahu and the IDF, armed by the US, Germany, UK and Serbia.
Israel will never eliminate Hamas and Hezbollah. In spite of all evidence that targeting guerrilla groups will not achieve long-term peace, Israel has stormed ahead, destroying land and people with no positive results. Everyone is weary of sham peace treaties. No one wants to live in a perpetual state of fear. The Israeli people too are tired of war.
Turkey together with Pakistan must take the initiative to stop the ridiculous and dangerous situation in the Middle East. Turkey is pragmatic and realistic and has recently formed a cooperative anti-aggression pact with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Hamas and Hezbollah must be realistic too. They cannot continue to send rockets into Israel. Nothing is achieved by this. Israel is protected by the Iron dome system so rockets only result in Israeli retaliation and civilian deaths.
Every problem has a solution. The negotiating table is the only way to move forward, however much hatred exists on both sides. Israel will always have US support. Gaza, Lebanon and Iran need Turkey to liaise with the Palestinian Authority, the US and Israel, but Hamas and Hezbollah must be considered in negotiations. Their role as Iranian proxies needs evaluation so Iran with Hamas and Hezbollah must seek pragmatic negotiation. Whatever mandate exists in Gaza and the West Bank must hold firm until the war with Israel is ended and stability is achieved. In return for stability and ceasefire, the Gulf States with US compensation must rebuild Gaza and Lebanon. The role of the Peace Board remains tenuous.
The Middle East must be made stable, in everyone’s interest. War has only achieved the deaths of the Palestinian and Lebanese people and utter destruction of homes and priceless antiquities. No one must be allowed to disrupt the reconstruction of Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
Justice needs to be achieved and everyone has a sense of right and wrong. History must be changed not by world powers but by leaders with insight and by ordinary people.
