The Spanish and British Prime Ministers have shown leadership amongst chaos
The illegal war in the Middle East goes on. The effect on human life, and the global economy is already severe. Both the Spanish and UK Prime Ministers have shown wisdom and restraint in the face of American and Israeli belligerence.
The EU has shown enormous cowardice. Germany and Austria particularly have continued to support Israel in spite of the genocide in Gaza,, destruction of Iran and Lebanon with unimaginable suffering and displacement of citizens. The linking of Jeffrey Epstein to Mossad is quite unsavoury. Mossad was linked to the awful terrorist attack on the Lebanese via exploding pagers in a previous Israeli attack on Lebanon. The EU must sanction Israel now.
The kindest comment to be made about the US is that it is floundering with little honour. The US has already killed 175 Iranian civilians many of them children, in spite of having precision equipment! Far from helping Iranian civilians it has destroyed lives and livelihoods. Israel dragged the US unto the war and now the Gulf States and Jordan have become targets.
The US keeps changing the reason for embarking on this war. If the US under Trump had adhered to the Nuclear Agreement with Iran brokered by former President Obama, then the excuse to commence war over alleged dangerous uranium enrichment, could not have been made by the US.
Lebanon’s citizens have been displaced for at least the second time.
Israel is continuing to kill and injure civilians in Iran, Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank. Using American arms and so-called precision technology the death toll of civilians is unacceptably high..
Has anyone in the Israeli cabinet any humanity?
The Israel Prime Minister, his cabinet and the IDF seem to have no reservations about the lives lost. Their appetite for war and destruction seems to have no limits. The treatment of residents in the West Bank is utterly appalling.
Benjamin Netanyahu is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes. In spite of this, he has the audacity to try and dictate who should govern Iran! Israel has destroyed Gaza and now is destroying people and antiquities in Iran and Lebanon. These countries have been seats of learning for hundreds of years. Their people are highly educated and talented. They are more than capable of choosing their own leaders.
Israel has been trying to dictate policy in the Middle East for many years and it has only succeeded in causing an upsurge in resistance to its own presence. Iran and other Gulf States have tried for years to get a State in Palestine. Israel has resisted but may yet have to agree this in order to get some peace for its own citizens.
