NATO and the EU must speak to the US and Israel immediately
Regime change could have been achieved in Iran without the ensuing unwarranted attacks on Iran, Lebanon and the Gulf States. Diplomacy was not allowed to take its course. Sanction lifting and a favourable economic package to revive Iran’s economy could have gone a long way to achieve a regime change.
Israel was determined to strike Iran and now the US is embroiled needlessly in a Middle East war. The US is apparently short of precision equipment so the civilian death toll in Iran will be even worse than might be predicted. 167 children in Iran were killed while at school on day 1 of this unnecessary war.
To hear the US personnel gloating over the torpedo of an Iranian ship in the Indian Ocean, is sad and utterly pointless. The Iranian navy offered no threat. The CIA apparently is now trying to get Kurdish forces to start civil war in Iran! The Kurds are scattered across Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria!
What is the point of the United Nations Charter? What is the point of the International Criminal Court? The US and Israel have ignored both. The EU has ignored the genocide in Gaza. It cannot ignore the invasion of Iran because of oil interest in the Strait of Hormuz.
There is now a rapidly increasing death toll and a huge displacement of people in Iran, Lebanon and Syria. Soon Iraq will be destabilized.
Mark Rutte must speak to President Trump and advise him. Turkey a NATO member may have a lot to offer at the negotiating table. The US Congress should refuse to authorize further funding for the war in Iran.
Israel does not want peace until domination of the Middle East is achieved which probably will never be tolerated. Benjamin Netanyahu is using biblical quotes to get the Israeli people to back the IDF and Israeli air force as they fight on three fronts, destroying all before them. Israel is now hoping that the Gulf States will turn on Iran with force.
Although the Israeli lobby in the US congress is ensuring that arms and money continue to flow into Israel, this war will take its toll on the Israeli economy. Meanwhile people are dying in Iran, Lebanon and the Gulf States. The EU must sanction Israel if Israel continues to kill and displace people in Iran, Lebanon and Syria.
The Iranian people are talented and have much to offer the world. They want democracy. Israel must not be allowed to reduce Iran to rubble as has happened in Gaza. The US and Israel must stop the Iranian invasion now and both must return to the negotiating table. The people of Iran must decide the future for Iran, not the US or Israel.
